Week one
What is an Uptake to me?
I am still unsure what an uptake is. But I am pretty sure I have an idea. I believe that an uptake is when someone puts an idea on a sheet of paper. The words that are put on their paper may not be perfect right away even though they believe it to be. What I mean by this is that people often believe that their work will be perfect right away even though it might not be. The people who think this unfortunately will face some great disappointment when they are told their work is not what they believed it to be. Now saying this is where I believe the word uptake takes place. Uptake is a word to define those who acknowledge when they are wrong about their work and are willing to take the feedback people give them. The people who acknowledge that there first of anything will never be perfect will be the one who write the best. But i feel like the word uptake can applied to more than just writing I believe that the people who fail and really take in the feedback good or bad will truly be successful. I also want to make clear that going through once's uptake doesn't have to be alone. Actually, most of the time people could never have had their uptake alone, we as people need others to support and help us perfect our work.
How do you Uptake information in your life?
I uptake information pretty well, I believe failure is the road to the kingdom we call success. For a long time, I played the beautiful sport soccer. Soccer was a huge part of my life and even though I loved it, and I was pretty good at it, and I would consider myself a little above average. But getting to where I am now, I failed a lot. I have lost more soccer games then days I have days I have been on this earth. Well, that's what it feels like at least. I started playing soccer around the time I was 4 and continued with it till my senior year when I decided that is where I wanted it to end as a player. But during that senior year me and some of my best friends won. We broke records are senior year and not just 1. We broke 7 records. we were the very first soccer team at our high school to win a regional championship. During that game I was crossed the ball into one of my best friends who scored the goal with his head. One goal might not seem all incredible. But that goal changed the moral of our team to give us energy and to win that regional game. Now how does this have to do with uptake? The reason this has to do with uptake is because I failed more times than anyone, I ever knew about crossing a ball. I had to train extremely hard to become in my opinion one of the best crossers on my team. I could ping a ball 60 yards away and with complete accuracy. It took be my whole life to get that good. Through soccer and failure and the assistance of others to help me become better I have learned not fear failure but to embrace it. Now in my life I fail almost every day with a smile and I am always exited to uptake and learn information
